HSCN Summit South 2018

Tuesday 11th September, QEII Centre, London SW1P 3EE

The single supplier, centrally managed 10 year contract for network services known as N3 has now ceased and its replacement, HSCN (Health and Social Care Network), is now live with suppliers already migrating customers from the old network onto the new network. The HSCN is designed to support the aspirations set out by the Department of Health and NHS England through the National Information Board – Personalised Care 2020 and NHS England Five Year Forward View. It aims to establish a standards-based approach to network services that will better enable interoperability between health and care organisations and create a competitive marketplace for the supply and consumption of network services.

Following on from the recent highly successful HSCN Summits we are working once again in partnership with the team at NHS Digital to deliver the next two summits. In order to benefit from the momentum that will have built it has been agreed with NHS Digital to stage these summits in September.

In light of this we will be gathering circa 350 stakeholders from the NHS, social care organisations, local authorities and the wider public sector to the 2018 HSCN Summits. These events will be hosted in Westminster and Leeds on the 11th and 18th September.

Previous HSCN Summits have focussed primarily on an introduction to HSCN, technical presentations, plus the migration and procurement processes. The 2018 summits will continue to focus on the migrations and procurement awards process that will be ongoing until at least 2020.  However, we will also be addressing benefit realisation from HSCN via overlay services etc and associated technologies, incident management, plus case study presentations from early adopters.

High level speakers from NHS Digital, CCS and Innopsis will address the delegates in morning and afternoon plenaries. In a new feature for this year’s Summits we will be dispensing with the traditional Q and A session and replacing this with an HSCN Clinic where delegates will be able to talk to the NHS digital team on a range of issues in a relaxed environment at the end of the summit.
